The short answer: across 106 active coupon codes from 70+ tracked retailers, the median GCC online discount is 10%, with everyday codes clustering between 5% and 15%. Discounts run deepest in sports and fashion and shallowest in pharmacy and electronics. Saudi Arabia has the widest coupon coverage (73 active codes); the UAE has the highest average discount (12%). Headline “up to 40–80%” offers exist but are almost always first-order / marketplace acquisition codes, not the typical everyday saving.
Data as of June 2026. Source: CouponGizer’s tracked-brand dataset. Methodology below.

Average discount by category
| Category | Median | Typical range | What drives it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sports | ~22% | 15–30% | Tiered “up to 30%” baskets (Sun & Sand, Squatwolf) |
| Fashion | 10% | 5–25% | Wide spread; marketplace/new-user codes lift the top |
| Baby & Kids | 10% | 10–15% | Steady mid-teens (Mamas & Papas, FirstCry) |
| Travel / eSIM | 10% | 5–15% | New vs returning user splits (Airalo) |
| Home | 10% | 10% | Flat (bedding, furnishings) |
| Beauty | 10% | 5–15% | Volume category, mostly flat 5–15% |
| Perfume / Oud | 10% | 5–10% | Premium pricing, modest codes |
| Marketplace | 5% | 5–10% | Thin margins (Noon, Carrefour everyday) |
| Electronics | ~8% | 5–10% | Lowest-margin hard goods |
| Pharmacy | 5% | 5% | Regulated, shallowest discounts |
Read: the category you shop matters more than the store. A 5% pharmacy code is normal; a 5% sports code is below-market. Sports and fashion reward coupon use most; pharmacy and electronics least.

Coupon coverage by country
| Country | Active codes | Avg discount |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | 73 | 10.1% |
| UAE | 46 | 12.0% |
| Kuwait | 24 | 11.7% |
| Egypt | 20 | 6.8% |
| Oman | 10 | 11.0% |
| Qatar | 9 | 9.1% |
| Bahrain | 6 | 7.5% |
Read: Saudi shoppers get the most choice (widest coverage), UAE shoppers the deepest average saving. Egypt has solid coverage but lower percentages, reflecting local pricing and heavy marketplace (Noon) weighting.

The “up to 80%” trap — what the headline numbers really mean
The biggest advertised discounts are not the typical saving:
- Acquisition codes (Carrefour 40%, Temu 30%, Vogacloset “up to 80%”) apply to first orders or new users only, often with a low cap (e.g. “up to 35 AED”).
- Tiered codes (Sun & Sand up to 30%) only reach the headline on large, full-price baskets and cap the total saving (~1,200 SAR/AED).
- Everyday repeat-purchase codes — the ones most shoppers actually use — sit at 5–15%.

If a coupon advertises 50%+, assume it’s new-user or category-capped until the terms say otherwise.
Methodology (what’s counted, what isn’t)
- Source: CouponGizer’s actively-maintained tracked-brand dataset — 106 live codes across 72 brand entries, June 2026.
- Metric: the headline percentage of each code. We report the median as the central figure because a few “up to” maxes skew the mean upward.
- Excluded: cashback rates (a different mechanism), free-shipping-only offers, suspended codes, and non-percentage deals.
- “Up to”/tiered codes are included but flagged; we never present a capped maximum as the typical saving.
- Country coverage counts how many active codes are valid in each market (a code valid in 3 countries counts once per country).
This is a transparent snapshot, refreshed quarterly. It is not a claim about any individual product price.
